Dallas Wedding Photography: Jeremiah and Kira

Posted by on Apr 21, 2012 in Blog, Weddings | 0 comments

Kira and Jeremiah were married at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano just a few weeks ago, and I had the pleasure of doing their wedding photography! Kira and Jeremiah were both surprisingly calm and relaxed when I got there which makes my job much easier; stressed and photogenic usually don’t go together. I had a great time documenting the evening — everything from the hustle and bustle of getting-ready photos, to the serenity of the ceremony, to the exuberance of the reception. Take a look at some of my favorite shots below.

Dallas Wedding Photography: Noah and Margaret

I had a blast photographing Noah and Margaret’s wedding! They are such a fun couple and it was completely reflected in the vibe of their wedding (and, I hope, in their photos!). They were married at Preston Road Church of Christ and held their reception at the Conduit Gallery in the Dallas Design District. I’d never shot a reception in an art gallery so that was a pretty fun experience. My favorite moment, by far, though was watching on with the whole party as Margaret and her dad sang karaoke to Journey at the end of the night — so much fun! Anyway, bellow are a few of my favorites from that night.

Dallas Bridal Photography: Margaret at the Adolphus Hotel

I met Margaret, along with her mother and sister, at the beautiful Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas to shoot her bridal photos. We had a great time romping around this stately old hotel. It was a challenging shoot because many of the rooms were poorly lit, covered in dark wood paneling. Still, out of challenging situations creative solutions often arise. We were able to use a lot of the dark conditions with some good window lighting to get some really dramatic shots. Below are some of my favorites:

Dallas Wedding Photography: Phil and Anne

I was really honored when my two good friends Anne and Phil asked me to photograph their wedding for them this past summer. They were married at Holy Hill Basilica, about 30 miles Northwest of Milwaukee Wisconsin. The church itself was beautiful and majestic, a fitting setting for one of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies I’ve ever been to. Afterwards, we all headed back to the reception at Anne’s parent’s house nearby. They have a huge, beautiful backyard which butts up against the 18th hole of a golf course! Needless to say, it was a beautiful and intimate setting. I photographed (and danced!) well into the night and had so much fun! Here are some of the photos:

Dallas Wedding Photography: Joel and Amanda

From the first few minutes hanging with the bridesmaids and groomsmen beginning getting-ready shots, I knew I was going to have fun shooting this wedding! Joel and Amanda got married just outside of Dallas in Richardson. I had already done engagement photos and bridals for them, so we already had a good relationship, which is always a plus on the big day. The ceremony was beautiful and also fun (the groomsmen concocted an elaborate hoax where, when asked for the ring, the best man pretended to have lost it, and went down the row of groomsmen looking for it, each of them going through some wild procedure to find it!) Needless to say, the ring was discovered eventually and Joel and Amanda managed to get married. The reception was a real treat for me because Joel and Amanda as well as most of their friends are extremely talented West Coast Swing dancers. It was a blast bobbing and weaving in and out of all the twirls, dips, and throws going on in the dance floor. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the wedding. Enjoy!
